Many of us live in cities like Hong Kong for an innumerate number of reasons, not least the fact that we here, on the whole enjoy year-round warm weather and, outside of the rainy season, a fantastic amount of sun annually.
No matter the size and shape of your home or office, windows are an integral part of the enjoyment of our home and work spaces however the hot sun, especially in the summer, can quickly turn your personal space into something akin to an oven. Blasting the air-con is the preferred option here (anyone who works in an office that more resembles a fridge at times can attest to this) however there is something you can do to prevent your personal space from heating up in the first place.
Tinting your windows can keep your home and office space up to 60% cooler. When your space stays cooler, your aircon doesnt have to be set at an arctic temperature which puts less wear and tear on its components and begins the journey of saving on your energy costs - something you'll notice when you get your electric bills at the end of the month.
It's not only the heat that is blocked by the tint. Window tint can block up to 99.9% of UVA and UVB rays, saving not only your skin from these harmful rays but also stops the eroding of colour on your fabrics, fittings and furnishings whilst also reducing the glare seen on both your computer and TV screens.
Window films can also make your windows safer. The film that is applied to the windows can help to keep the glass together in the event of breakage during - especially here in the Far East - events such as typhoons and tropical cyclones, preventing shards of glass from scattering inside your home or office.
At Eco Glass Asia (www.ecoglassasia.com) we have a great selection of 3M Window Films to choose from. We only work with top-quality 3M films that are designed for a number of different uses. We use both tints and clear films to enhance the safety and security of your windows whilst our tints and reflective films significantly reduce UVA, UVB plus Infra Red rays and glare on your technological appliances. We have over 8 years of experience in the window filming industry both here in Hong Kong and New Zealand and our skilled applicators will install the films professionally and responsibly either at your home or your office.
