At a charity auction earlier this week we at Eco Glass both entered and bid on lots that was part of an evening of donating and giving. With all proceeds going to Riding For The Disabled, a non-profit-making organization which aims to teach disabled children and some adults to ride a horse to the best of their ability. As a matter of fact, riding is widely recognized as one of the most beneficial forms of therapy the disabled can receive. It builds self-confidence, improves concentration and self-discipline and, at the same time, provides recreation and sport.
Eco Glass donated a full window filming job for the successful bidders office or home using our popular 3M Night Vision series film which was snapped up for just $11,000 - a bargain - but, more importantly, a fantastic amount of money that was donated to the cause.
The hosts for the night of revelry at Hong Kong's popular Ce La Vie rooftop bar and restaurant were the Hong Kong Polo Club, a small but emerging club as equine sports become ever more popular in the city. The auction itself was presided over by Macey & Sons and the night generated over $70,000 that went to charity as chief auctioneer Jonathan Macey whet people's appetites to spend for such a good cause.
Not to be there just to make up the numbers, we successfully bid on a 'staycation' at the St. Regis hotel here in Hong Kong, which when opened in June 2019 will become another iconic five-star hotel in the city. Our winning bid of $13,500 for the lot not only added to the final tally that would go to the charity, also gives us some down time in the city's newest hotel in 2019.
As we progress and grow as a company we intend to invest our time working with other charities so others can benefit from the hard work and dedication we put into both our company, the city and those within it.
